OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO COMMUNITY SERVICE
Dr. Bhupendra Kumar Modi
Dr Bhupendra Kumar Modi, Chairman, MCorp Global, has made a significant contribution to India’s economic growth and prosperity. MCorp today has a global presence with its office based in London, Los Angeles, Dubai, Shenzhen and New Delhi.
A visionary and an inspiring leader, Dr. Modi has pioneered and seeded many new technological breakthroughs and management concepts in India. He has, perhaps the singular distinction of setting up some of India’s most dynamic joint ventures in partnership with global giants such as Xerox, Alcatel, Telstra, Olivetti, in the areas of Information Technology, Document Processing, Telecommunications, Cellular Telephony etc.
A Master in Business Administration from the University of Southern California, USA, Dr. Modi also holds a PhD in Financial Management. He has also been conferred a D.Litt in Industrial Management. Besides having written several books on both management as well as religious tenets such as: Performance – A Manager’s Challenge, Hinduism The Universal Truth, One God, India and Hinduism etc.
Founder of Modipuram with several schools, and colleges, Dr. Modi is heavily involved in Ekal Vidyalay as Global Chairman, Dr. Modi also heads Maha Bodhi Society of India (President), Asia Crime Prevention Foundation and World Council of Spiritual and Religious Leaders (Chairman) He is a Global Counselor to The Conference Board, based in New York.
Dr. Modi was conferred with a Proclamation by the 108th Congress of Sixth Congressional District in New York, USA for his inspirational innovations and humanitarian efforts worldwide. Currently, he is producing a feature film in Hollywood based on the life of Buddha to promote the message of peace and harmony worldwide.
OUSTANDING PROFESSIONAL ACHIVEMENT
Dr. Anmol Mahal
Anmol S Mahal, MD was elected the President Elect of the California Medical Association in March of 2004 Dr. Mahal had served as the Chair and Vice Chair for the CMA Board of Trustees in the prior years. The California Medical Association represents 35,000 physician members and is the voice of medicine and patients in Sacramento and at the federal level. Dr. Mahal served on the CMA Technical Advisory Committee that was instrumental in establishing the Ethnic Medical Section as a permanent section of the CMA. He serves on the American Medical Association Commission on Eliminating Health Disparities. He was recently appointed to the Emergency Medical Services Commission of the State of California.
Dr Mahal has served as the President of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin of Northern California and presently serves of the AAPIO Board of Trustees. He has served as the Pacific Regional Director for the American Association of Physicians of India. He also serves of the Board of Trustees of the Sikh Foundation in Palo Alto, California; and the Board of Trustees of the Indian Community Center in Milpitas, California.
Dr. Mahal has served as the Chief of Staff at Washington Hospital Healthcare System in Fremont, Ca. and was the recipient of the Leadership Award of that Medical Staff.
He has been in private practice of Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine in Fremont, CA since 1979.Dr. Mahal is married and his wife Surjit is a Family Physician. They have two children, a daughter Subena, who is in a Family Practice Residency and a son Vikram, who is in college.

Ms. Purnima Jha
, Dance and Rhythm of India
Purnima Jha is an internationally renowned and much honored Indian Classical Kathak dancer / scholar, choreographer, and is a founder/Artistic Director of Dance and Rhythm of India .Ms. Jha’s performances of her ancient Kathak dance repertoire have been enjoyed world-wide live and televised .She is the foremost exponent of rhythmically flamboyant Jaipur and graceful lyrical Lucknow and devotional Banaras styles of Kathak. Purnima Jha carries on a 2,500 year old tradition of Kathak. She began dancing at the age of three and performed for the Dalai Lama at the age of four. Trained by her father the legendary artist and primary guru of kathak, Shanker Dev Jha, who was honored with the title of “Natraja” by the Maharaja of Hathwa. Purnima is acknowledged as the heiresses of Kathak tradition and considered one of the primary authorities on Indian classical dance.
Purnima Jha received the prestigious Great Daughter of the Soil Award in India for life long achievement. In 2004, she was honored in London with the Pride of India Gold Award as an Eminent artist of Excellence in the field of Indian Classical Dance.
Ms. Jha has served as a visiting scholar at U.C Berkeley-Cal Performances/Kennedy Center/ BUSD, and many more. She has performed at the prestigious venues including San Francisco Opera House, Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. Oriental Festival in Eastern Europe, Kathak Festival in India, India International Center, Embassy Theater , Palace of Fine Arts. Asian Arts Museum, Zellerbach Hall, Yerba Buena Center to name the few. She has also received awards and grants from major foundations.

Pallavi Shah
, Mathcounts Math Club
On May 12th, 2005 Pallavi Shah was honored by President Bush in the oval office along with other winners of the 2005 Mathcounts National Competition. This was her second visit to the Oval office. In 2003 she was honored as the coach of the 1st place team and 2nd place individual in the nation.
On May 13th, 2005 Shah received the Middle School Teacher of the year award from the Santa Clara Valley Math Association. Shah teaches mathematics to 7th and 8th grade students at Miller Middle School in San Jose.
Pallavi lives with her husband Raj Shah in San Jose. They have a son, Suneet who is and engineering student at UC Berkeley, and a daughter Mansi, a sophomore in high school.
