OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO COMMUNITY SERVICE

Dr.R.K.Janmeja Singh

Dr.R.K.Janmeja Singh is a renowned Psychologist and Professor, and a long time resident of the Bay Area. After getting his Doctorate from Boston University, he has had a close association with numerous universities and institutions of Psychiatry and Psychology, including Harvard, UC Berkley and UCSF. He was the Dean and Distinguished Professor at the Graduate School of Integrative Psychology in Concord. he is as well-published author and lecturer. He is the founder of the Hume Center provides comprehensive mental health services in the bay area and is servicing as President Emeritus and Chief Psychologist.

OUTSTANDING PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT

Ms.Talat Hasan

Talat Hasan is the chairman and CEO of Sensys Instruments, a company she founded in 1966 to market products for the semiconductors manufacturing industry. The company was recently acquired by Therma Wave. She holds an M.A. in Physics from Oxford University and a B.Sc. in Physics from Aligarh Muslim University (India).

OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO THE ARTS AND HUMANITIES

GS Sachdev

Ravi Shankar says of GS Sachdev: "I admire his ability to touch the spirit of the raga he performs and also to move the listeners emotionally with his pure and classical approach", And George Harrison said "We are fortunate to have such a fine musician in our presence". GS Sachdev is a master of the Indian Bamboo Flute, the Bansuri. He started playing the bansuri at a young age of 14,and over the years ,he has developed the gift of communicating instantly with his audiences through his music.

Rajnikant T. and Helen Crane Desai

Raj received the Ms degree in Structural Engineering from the University of California, Berkley, in 1953.Helen native Californian, also graduated from the University of California, Berkley, receiving the BA(1952) and the MA(1954) in Art History.
